In the unfortunate event of a file or folder disappearing from OneDrive or Sharepoint, there are options to find them.
First; you need to be logged in as a user with permission to the missing files/folders.
Your account credentials are saved in Passportal.
Once in OneDrive/Sharepoint, go to ‘My files’. The search bar is at the top of the window.
To perform a search, type something specifically for the file or folder to be found:
– if the file/folder has a number, search for the number (114 – Projects, file004.txt, invoice20032020.pdf)
– if it’s for a specific project, look for the project’s name (project)
The result will show where the file/folder is located when was it modified and by whom.
Now that the file/folder was found, it can be moved to its original or a new location if desired.
Another option includes looking in the ‘Recycle’ bin, by clicking on the icon from the main OneDrive/Sharepoint page. It will list files/folders and when they were placed there.
